Responsibilities

Dr Boland has been appointed as an Honorary Fellow to ensure closer collaboration on projects and joint supervision of postgraduate students. Dr Boland’s appoint gives CWR access to someone with a deep understanding of tropical limnology as we have recently secured a further project in Brazil focused on the management of algal blooms in Sao Paolo's major drinking water reservoir. Dr Boland has a Doctorate in Limnology, 30 years experience in tropical water quality in lakes and reservoirs and is recognised as Australia's foremost tropical limnologist. Dr Boland's expertise in tropical water quality will complement CWR's current expertise and a closer association with Dr Boland will also lead to enhanced probability of work in this area.

Research Interests

Dr Boland’s research interest are in tropical water quality in lakes and reservoirs; predictive water quality modelling in lakes, reservoirs and mining voids incorporating environmental hydraulics, water chemistry and primary production; biological,chemical and microbiological evaluation and management of reticulated water supplies from both groundwater and surface water sources including large towns and communities.
